This time, it\u2019s supposedly from an \u201cindependent artist\u201d who\u2019s worried about his music.<\/p>\n<p>Sounds important at first. Which track, exactly?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>What immediately stands out:<br \/>\nZero details.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No name<\/li>\n<li>No song<\/li>\n<li>No video<\/li>\n<li>No timestamp<\/li>\n<li>No real sender<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instead: \u201cIndependent Artist.\u201d Yeah, right. That\u2019s obviously a huge help.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"YouTube_usually_knows_more_than_%E2%80%9CIndependent_Artist%E2%80%9D\"><\/span>YouTube usually knows more than \u201cIndependent Artist\u201d<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If there really is a problem, <strong>it\u2019s not just some random Gmail address<\/strong> that gets in touch, but YouTube itself:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Content ID claim in the Studio<\/li>\n<li>Official copyright complaint<\/li>\n<li>Clear details about the affected content<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here? We click the link and are taken to a website. Here, we\u2019re first asked to enter our channel name. That\u2019s quite interesting\u2014on one hand, they know about our copyright infringement, but first they need our channel name? Yeah, right!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/update_youtube_phishing_2.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"801\" height=\"473\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7161\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/update_youtube_phishing_2.webp 801w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/update_youtube_phishing_2-300x177.webp 300w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/update_youtube_phishing_2-768x454.webp 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 801px) 100vw, 801px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Just for fun, we enter &#8220;ZDF,&#8221; and lo and behold, they find a copyright violation! At the same time, we\u2019re asked to log in with our Google account. The page isn\u2019t a separate window, as is usually the case, but is embedded directly into the page. The green lock, the link\u2014it\u2019s all fake.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/update_youtube_phishing_4.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"781\" height=\"800\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7165\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/update_youtube_phishing_4.webp 781w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/update_youtube_phishing_4-293x300.webp 293w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/update_youtube_phishing_4-768x787.webp 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 781px) 100vw, 781px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Anyone who enters their login credentials here is in trouble and is handing over their Google account to the phishers. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Second_Conclusion\"><\/span>Second Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Always stay vigilant; a genuine copyright notice is visible on the channel itself. If you have entered your information, you should immediately change your passwords and log out of all accounts, if still possible.
